Mount Cannon (4,100 ft) looms above Franconia Notch in Franconia Notch State Park. Formally Profile Mountain, it once held the Old Man of the Mountain profile. Now its granite cliffs host a ski area and hikers. Despite its height, Cannon is among the shortest 4,000-footer hikes (tram lifts to summit). Its open top provides wide views of the notch.
